FuX app: composing music in the style of Haydn, Beethoven and Bach

FuX3A new version of the FuX app lets you listen to newly generated counterpoint music in the style of a specific composer.

Dorien Herremans, Kenneth Sörensen and David Martens developed a system that generates a continuous stream of counterpoint music with composer-specific properties. This resulted in an Android app that lets you listen to an endless stream of newly composed music.

From a large collection of existing music, a model was developed that allows the classification of musical pieces per composer. This model was then integrated in the VNS. Version 2.0 of FuX uses this model to generate counterpoint with composer-specific characteristics based on the user’s input.

The FuX app is available as Open Source software (for free) at the Google Play Store and can easily be installed on any Android phone or tablet.
